A shared IPv4 address (VPS 1) is used by more than one server, so some uses can be limited. Every other plan has a dedicated IPv4 address. Bandwidth is the port speed; traffic is unmetered.

What is included, and what is not
A VPS is a server you run. We look after the server being there, paid for and reachable. You look after what runs on it.
We do
- A virtual server with the vCPU, memory, SSD and bandwidth listed for your plan
- Ubuntu Linux with full root access over SSH
- Set up by hand within 1 business day of payment, then handed over in the panel
- The provider snapshot backup listed for your plan
- Billing, renewals and a GST tax invoice for every payment (SAC 998315)
- First-line support by email: we check that the server is up and reachable, and pass hardware and network faults to our data-centre partner
You do, or it is not included
- Running the software on the server: installing, updating, securing and fixing it is yours, because you have root
- A control panel such as cPanel, free automatic HTTPS, the FiniteHost CDN or FiniteHost mailboxes (those come with web hosting)
- FiniteHost's nightly backups: keep your own copies of anything important
- Malware clean-up, website migrations or custom setup work (ask for a quote)
- A server in India: VPS servers are in the USA

Servers are in the USA
Every VPS runs in a data centre in the USA, operated by our upstream partner. We do not offer VPS servers in India. From India, expect a round trip of very roughly 200 to 300 ms depending on your network. That is fine for SSH, APIs, background jobs and most websites, especially behind a CDN, but you will notice it in real-time apps and games.
Need a dedicated server?
Dedicated servers are by quote. Tell us the CPU, memory, storage and location you need, and a person replies with options and a written price. Nothing is charged until you accept.

Questions, answered
What does “managed” mean here?
We set the server up, handle billing and renewals with our data-centre partner, and give first-line support by email. You manage the software on the server: with root access, installing, updating and securing it is your job. If you would rather not run a server, web hosting does that for you.
Where are the servers?
In the USA, run by our upstream data-centre partner. They are not in India. From India, expect a round trip of very roughly 200 to 300 ms depending on your network, which is fine for SSH, APIs and most websites but noticeable for real-time use.
How quickly is a VPS ready?
We set each server up by hand within 1 business day of payment. It is not instant. The panel shows when it is ready, its IP address and SSH details, and lets you reveal the initial root password once. Your paid period counts from the handover.
Which operating system do I get?
Ubuntu Linux, with full root access over SSH. If you need something else, write to us before ordering.
What backups are included?
The provider snapshot listed for each plan (VPS 1, VPS 2, VPS 4, VPS 6: provider snapshot every 4 weeks; VPS 8, VPS 8 Plus, VPS 10, VPS 16: provider snapshot every 2 weeks). A snapshot copies the whole disk at one moment, so it is a safety net, not a replacement for your own backups.
What does a shared IPv4 address mean?
VPS 1 shares its IPv4 address with other servers, so some uses can be limited. Every larger plan has 1 dedicated IPv4 address of its own. If you are not sure which you need, ask us before ordering.
Can I get a refund?
The 7-day full refund applies only before your server is set up. After we hand it over, the server has been bought from our partner for the period you paid, so any refund is prorated and at our discretion.
Do I get a GST invoice?
Yes, for every payment, with your GSTIN if you add it in the panel (18% GST, SAC 998315).
