Order a VPS
Pick a VPS size, order and pay in the panel, and know what happens until your server is handed over.

A FiniteHost VPS is a whole virtual server with full root access on Ubuntu Linux. It runs in a data centre in the USA, operated by our upstream data-centre partner. We set each server up by hand within 1 business day of your payment, then hand it over in the panel. You pay in rupees and get a GST tax invoice, like any other FiniteHost plan.
A VPS is the right choice if you want to install your own software and run the server yourself. If you just want a website, mail or Python scripts without running a server, web hosting is simpler. See Hosting, VPS or a website built for you?.
Before you start#
- You have a FiniteHost account and your billing details are saved. See Create your account and Billing details and GSTIN.
- You are comfortable with a Linux command line over SSH, or willing to learn with First steps on your VPS.
- You know that the server is in the USA. From India, expect a round trip of very roughly 200 to 300 ms, depending on your network.
VPS plans#
Prices in rupees before 18% GST. Yearly billing costs 10 times the monthly price, so you get 12 months for the price of 10.

What we do and what you do#

A VPS does not include a control panel, automatic HTTPS, the FiniteHost CDN, FiniteHost mailboxes or our nightly backups. Those come with web hosting. Your backups are the provider snapshot listed for your plan.
Order your VPS#
- Choose a size. Start small if you are unsure; the table above shows what each size gives you.
- Open Servers in the panel. Sign in at panel.finitehost.com and open Servers, or press Order VPS on the VPS page.
- Pick the billing period and the plan. Use the Monthly / Annual switch (annual: pay 10 months, get 12), then press Choose on the plan you want.
- Pay on the checkout. You are taken to the secure finiteskills.com checkout. Pay with UPI, a card or net banking. FiniteHost never sees your card or bank details.
- Keep your tax invoice. It is issued as soon as the payment is confirmed and appears under Invoices & refunds.
- Wait for the handover. A person sets up your server by hand, within 1 business day of payment. Until then Servers shows it as Being set up. Your paid period counts from the handover, not from the payment, so the waiting days are not lost.
- Read the sign-in details. When it is ready, Servers shows the IP address, the operating system, the SSH user and port, and the SSH command to copy.
- Reveal the root password once. Press Reveal password, copy it into your password manager and confirm with I have copied it. It is shown only once, and deleted after 7 days if you never reveal it. Then follow First steps on your VPS straight away.
Troubleshooting#
- The server is not ready after 1 business day. Write to support@finitehost.com with your payment reference. If we cannot set it up, you get a full refund.
- The payment failed. Nothing is charged and nothing is set up. Order again from Servers.
- You lost the root password, or it was deleted before you revealed it. Write to support@finitehost.com. We reset it at the provider and you can reveal the new one once in the panel.
- You need a bigger machine or a dedicated server. Dedicated servers are by quote. Use Ask for a dedicated server on the VPS page or email support@finitehost.com.
