Invoices and credit notes
Find, open, print and save your GST tax invoices and credit notes, and understand their numbers.
On this page
FiniteHost issues a GST tax invoice for every payment, the moment the payment is confirmed. When money is given back, for example after a refund, a GST credit note is issued against the original invoice. Both are in the panel for as long as you have an account.
Before you start#
- Make sure your billing details are right before you pay: invoices cannot be edited after they are issued. See Billing details and GSTIN.
Find and save an invoice#
- Open Invoices. In the sidebar under Account, choose Invoices. The tiles show how many documents you have and the Total billed (invoices minus credit notes).
- Find the invoice. The table lists each document's Number, Type (tax invoice or credit note), Date and Total, newest first.
- Open it. Press Open or click the number. The invoice opens in a new tab.
- Print or save as PDF. Use your browser's Print command (
Ctrl P, orCmd Pon a Mac) and choose Save as PDF as the printer.
You also get each invoice by email: the "Payment received" email has a link to it.
What is on an invoice#
- FiniteHost's legal name, address and GSTIN.
- Your legal name, address, state and GSTIN (if you added one), as they were when you paid.
- Invoice number and date, and the place of supply.
- The plan and period, for example "FiniteHost Pro plan, monthly (30 days)", with SAC 998315.
- For an upgrade, a credit line for the unused days of your old plan.
- The taxable value, CGST and SGST or IGST at 18% in total, a Round off line, and the total in figures and words.
The checkout charges whole rupees, so the difference between the exact total and the amount paid appears as Round off (never more than 50 paise either way).
Invoice numbers#
| Document | Format | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Tax invoice | FH + financial year + 6-digit number | FH2627-000042 |
| Credit note | FHCN + financial year + 5-digit number | FHCN2627-00003 |
The financial year runs April to March, so 2627 means FY 2026-27. Numbers are consecutive within each year and never skipped or reused, as GST rules require.
Credit notes#
A credit note reduces the value of an earlier invoice. FiniteHost issues one when:
- you get a refund (see Refunds), or
- an invoice needs a correction, for example a wrong amount.
A credit note names the invoice it corrects and the reason. It appears in your Invoices list with the type credit note, and its total is subtracted in Total billed.
Troubleshooting#
- No invoice after paying. Invoices are issued when the payment is confirmed, usually within a minute. If one is missing after an hour, write to billing@finitehost.com with the payment reference.
- The invoice link shows "sign in first". Invoices are private to your account. Sign in to the panel in the same browser, then open the link again.
- Wrong name, address or GSTIN on an invoice. Issued invoices cannot be edited. Update your details for future invoices and write to billing@finitehost.com about the old one. See GST and input tax credit.
