Your webmail settings live in one panel, Manage profile. This guide walks through each setting, then covers browser notifications, the storage panel and the vacation responder.

Before you start#

Sign in to webmail.

Open your profile#

Click your avatar (top right) → Manage profile. Or press Ctrl+K and choose Settings & profile.

Manage profile holds your name, photo, theme and signature.

Your name and photo#

  1. Profile image: click Change image, choose a picture (PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF), and crop it to a circle. Remove deletes it.
  2. Display name: the name people see in the directory and in webmail, for example Priya Sharma. Also fill in First name, Last name, Role / title, Company and Phone if you like; colleagues see them in the directory.
  3. Click Save profile.

Signature#

  1. In Signature, type the text to add to the end of every new message, pressing Enter between lines. For example, three lines: Priya Sharma, Operations lead, Acme, +91 98450 00000.
  2. Click Save profile.

The signature is added automatically when you start a new message, reply or forward. You can edit or delete it in each message before sending.

When you are signed in to more than one mailbox (Multiple mailboxes), a second box, Signature for address, appears. Fill it in to use a different signature for that mailbox; leave it empty to use your default signature.

Theme#

Choose a Theme in the profile: Graphite (default dark), Midnight Blue, Silver Shine (light), Slate Teal, Royal Indigo or Forest Green. It applies at once; click Save profile to keep it.

To switch quickly between the light and dark look, press Ctrl+K → Toggle light / dark theme.

List density#

View → Compact shows more messages per screen; Comfortable gives each row more space. Webmail remembers your choice in this browser.

New-mail notifications#

Webmail can show a desktop or phone notification when new mail arrives, even when the webmail tab is in the background.

  1. Click the bell icon in the top bar (or Manage profile → Notifications).
  2. Click Enable notifications.
  3. Your browser asks for permission. Click Allow.
  4. Click Send test alert to check.

If the panel says Notifications blocked, you denied permission earlier. Open your browser's site settings for webmail.finitehost.com, set Notifications to Allow, and reload webmail. On a phone, see Webmail on your phone.

The browser tab title also shows the number of unread messages, so you can see new mail at a glance.

Storage#

The storage chip in the top bar (for example "27.4% of 5.0 GiB") opens the Mailbox storage panel.

  • Refresh quota updates the numbers.
  • Run analyzer shows how space is used by folder, so you know where to clean up.

The quota is set by your plan. To free space, empty Trash and Spam, then search has:attachment and delete large old messages. See Limits and policies.

Vacation responder (auto-reply)#

Webmail has a Vacation responder: Folder → Auto-reply on the ribbon, or Ctrl+K → Vacation responder. You can tick Turn on vacation responder, set a Subject, Message, Start and End, and click Save.

On FiniteHost the dialog shows that auto-replies are turned off.

Password#

Reset password in the profile does not change your password in webmail: mailbox passwords are made in the FiniteHost panel by the plan owner (Email accounts). After a new password is made, sign in to webmail again with it.

Troubleshooting#

ProblemFix
"Profile image is too large"Crop tighter or use a smaller picture.
The theme resets on another computerClick Save profile after choosing the theme, so it is stored with your mailbox.
No notificationsCheck the browser permission, that your computer's own notification settings allow the browser, and that the webmail tab or installed app has been opened since the computer started.
Signature does not appear in replies from my phoneWebmail signatures apply only in webmail. Set a signature in each mail app as well.
