We are building FiniteHost Mail for Android, a dedicated app for FiniteHost mailboxes. It is not released yet, and there is no download link today. This page will be updated with installation steps when it is available.
Before you start#
Nothing to do yet. Your mailbox works on Android today in two ways.
Use your mailbox on Android today#
- Gmail app (recommended for phones): add your mailbox as an "Other" IMAP account. It takes about eight minutes: Set up email in the Gmail app.
- Webmail in the browser: open
https://webmail.finitehost.comin Chrome and sign in. You can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app and can show new-mail notifications: Webmail on your phone. - Any other mail app that supports IMAP, such as Samsung Email or Outlook for Android, with the settings in Mail app settings.
When the app arrives#
Your mailbox will not need any changes. The app signs in with the same address and password as webmail and other mail apps, and shows the same folders, because your mail stays on the FiniteHost server.
Troubleshooting#
- Can't find the app in the Play Store: it is not released yet. Use one of the options above.
- Your existing Android setup stops working: that is not related to the app. See Email troubleshooting.
