FiniteHost plans are prepaid and never renew automatically. We never store a card or charge you without you completing a checkout. That means renewing is your job, so this guide explains the reminders you get, how to renew, and the safety net if you are late.

Before you start#

  • Find your Paid until date: it is on the Dashboard and in Billing & plans under "Your subscriptions".
  • Keep your billing details current, since each renewal gets a new tax invoice. See Billing details and GSTIN.

Annual365 days10 times the monthly price

Renew a plan#

  1. Open Billing & plans. In the sidebar under Account, choose Billing & plans.
  2. Pick the period. Use the Monthly / Annual switch at the top. Renew charges the period selected there, so you can switch a monthly plan to annual when renewing.
  3. Press Renew. It is on your plan's row in "Your subscriptions".
  4. Pay on the checkout. Complete the payment on finiteskills.com as in Buy a plan.
  5. Check the new date. Back in the panel, Paid until moves forward and a new tax invoice appears under Invoices.

What happens if you do not renew#

Days are counted from your paid-until date.
WhenStateWhat it meansEmail you get
7 days before the paid-until dateActiveEverything runs."Your FiniteHost plan renews on ..."
Paid-until dateGraceEverything still runs for 7 more days. The panel shows "Payment due"."Payment overdue: ..."
Day 7SuspendedWebsites show a paused page. Mailbox, database and SFTP sign-ins stop and Python apps stop. Incoming mail is still accepted, so nothing bounces."Your FiniteHost sites are paused"
Day 30EndedThe plan ends and can no longer be renewed from the panel. Your files, databases and mail are kept."Your FiniteHost plan has ended"
Day 44DeletedFiles, databases and mail are permanently deleted from the servers.

Renewing late#

Renew within 30 days of the end (paid-until) date and everything comes back as it was.

  • In grace: the new period starts from your old paid-until date, because the grace days were served.
  • While suspended: the new period starts from the day you pay, because the service was off. Sites, mail and apps come back within a few minutes.
  • After day 30: the Renew button is gone and the panel says "This plan has ended. Buy a new one instead". If you need your data, write to support@finitehost.com before day 44 and we will help you recover it.

Troubleshooting#

  • No reminder email. Reminders go to your account's email address. Check spam and add finitehost.com to your safe senders.
  • The Renew button is missing. It shows only for plans that are active, in grace or suspended.
  • Renewed but the site is still paused. It can take a few minutes for the servers to pick up the change. If it is still paused after 15 minutes, write to support@finitehost.com.
  • Want to stop? Simply do not renew. There is nothing to cancel. See Refunds for the 7-day refund on a first payment.
